College Republican News : Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans Convention 2008

I am happy to announce that registration is now open for the Wisconsin Federation of College Republicans 2008 State Convention! Please follow the link below to the convention registration form.

Please print it off, fill out all of the appropriate information and mail it back to the address on the form by March 23rd. Registration will be open through the April 4th, however, there will be a $10 surcharge and no guarantee that a hotel room will be available….so, to make things easier for everyone, I would recommend having it in the mail by the 23rd.

Alumni are welcome to attend, however, please add an additional $25 to each hotel package unless you only plan to attend the banquet.

We have several events taking place both tomorrow and election night.

Tomorrow 2/18:

UW Eau Claire Hosts Governor Mike Huckabee
Description: UWEC College Republicans will host Gov. Mike Huckabee in one his last campaign stops before Tuesday’s election.
Event Details: Monday Feb. 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the Council Fire Room, 2nd Floor Davies Center. Guests are asked to arrive by 10:30 a.m.

UW Stevens Point – Candidate Debate
Description: A Student will represent each of the remaining Presidential contenders (McCain, Huckabee, Paul, Clinton and Obama) and will answer policy questions as if they were the candidate. The candidate’s reps will engage with eachother both in-party and across party lines. The purpose of the event is to help educate student voters as to which candidate best fits their mold. They will also be hosting a straw poll and will have representatives from both the College Republicans and College Democrats on hand to recruit volunteers.

UW River Falls President’s Day Great Debate
Description: College Republicans, College Democrats, and Socialist Alternative debate foreign policy and education.

UW LaCrosse Perplexed by Politcs
Description: Everyone is Welcome: moderates, conservatives, independents, political junkies, and newbies! Be part of this historic election. Come enjoy ice cream sundaes with the UW-L College Republicans and learn about candidates on both sides of the political spectrum. The discussion shouldn’t last more than an hour so feel free to stop by!

College Republican News : WICR Fall Leadership Conference

We will likely kick off the conference with CR business and various speakers from the Republican Party of Wisconsin Friday evening at 5pm.

The Leadership Institute training will begin Saturday morning at 8am and will likely run into the evening. We will reconvene Sunday morning and run through late Sunday afternoon. (We understand that due to travel time some folks may have to head out early)

A hint of what to expect…

Reince Priebus – Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin
Mark Jefferson – Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin
Juston Johnson – Political Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin
Todd Lohenry – Chairman of the RPW County Chairman’s Organization
Pat Snyder – Conservative talk radio host from 550 WSAU Wausau
